You originally met Eve Taylor in Merry Christmas Eve. Now she’s back, sassier than ever in Eve ‘n’ Steven. Both books are stand-alone stories.
Eve Taylor decides it’s time to move on from the past. After all, she has a wonderful boyfriend, who came with two great children. She has a fantastic career and has achieved all of her personal goals and dreams.
To cut all ties to the past, she must return to the small rural town where she grew up, to sell her parents farm – a job she’s been putting off for a long time. She has no desire to go there, not when her boyfriend Grayson is spending time with the world’s most gorgeous movie star.
Then, there’s Steven. Everyone says they were destined to be together, but Eve didn’t love him that way. She’s been avoiding him and his feelings for her for years. But when Grayson unexpectedly dumps her over the phone, Eve reconsiders. Could Steven really be her destiny? Can he fix her parents crumbling farm, and mend Eve’s broken heart too?
Eve ‘N’ Steven is the story of Eve, a successful, wealthy woman from New York City who has to return home to the family farm and deal with the legacy of the farm, once her parents have passed on. Waiting back in her little, hometown is Steven – her childhood friend who everyone thought would eventually end up together. The plot revolves around her dealing with this situation, whilst trying to handle her emotions from a possible breakup with her long-term boyfriend back in New York.
The book is cleverly written, at times genuinely funny, warm and sweet. Quite frankly, I loved it and having not read the first book in the series made no difference at all to my enjoyment. I may even now go back and read that first book. I like this author.
I was thrilled when I saw that Suzie Jay was releasing Eve ‘n’ Steven. Having read Merry Christmas, Eve, I couldn’t wait to see what happened in All About Eve 2.
But all is not well for Eve and her love, Grayson. When Eve returns to her hometown to settle her parents’ estate, a series of miscommunications and Eve’s own self-doubt threaten to tank their relationship. Plus, back home she’s reunited with her old neighbor Steven, who always carried a torch for her.
I literally couldn’t put this one down. I had to know what happened with Eve, Grayson and his kids, and Steven. If you love great, heartfelt romance, you’ll love Eve ‘n’ Steven!
